In this case I have chosen to review the reference guide simply because it is not where most of you should start. Actually none of you should start with this book. This makes reviewing it easy because it is an excellent book for its target readership and they will already know about OpenGL (it is yet another standard graphics library that supports high quality 3D colour graphics programming.)
If you need to know about OpenGL start with the Programming Guide. If you are simply curious about computer graphics there are a number of other books that would be more appropriate.

If you are already using OpenGL in your work I would assume that you knew about this book and have a copy on the shelf above your desk. If not all I can say is that you should check it out in your local bookshop to ensure that you really do not need it (possibly your implementation came with satisfactory documentation).
