I recently invested in a copy of CorelDRAW 8, not least so that I
had a tool to use for creating covers for C Vu. Fairly soon I realised that
trial and error was going to consume a large amount of time. So I got a
couple of books from publishers that I had previously had good experiences
with. I am not going to pretend that I have read either of these books
cover to cover. Largely these books are ones where you look up a topic when
you need to. Rather like dictionaries it is easy to get side tracked. I
was doing some scanning and thought I would have a look to see what these
books might have to say. Along with some very practical information, I came
across some truly amazing things in
CorelDRAW 8 Bible . I would never even have thought of
scanning Whipped cream and I am not even sure what 'personal lubricant' is
though I will take the authors word that you can suspend things in it.
Clearly, there is a whole different world out there.
CorelDRAW 8 Secrets tends to stay clear of these more
exotic areas but does give excellent advice. For example, if you are going
to use a laser printer do not go and spend large sums of money on specially
surfaced paper until you have tested that the toner will fuse to it.
OK these books are not about programming but if you have to produce your own
documentation or want to explore exciting graphical designs for your web
page either of these books will help you get more from CorelDRAW 8.
